Data Engineer

I am currently Data Engineer at Incognia where I’m working on fraud prevention, location fingerprint, and passwordless authentication.

Incognia is a US-based sister company to Inloco, and also the name of our anti-fraud solutions in Brazil. Our location technology offers private location awareness for use in mobile applications and connected devices. 30x more precise than GPS, Incognia uses network signals and on-device sensors to build an anonymous location behavioral pattern unique for each user, that provides location context and creates a private identity. Incognia is used by B2B and B2C companies for anonymized location insights, ID verification, authentication, and fraud detection.

Experience

  1. Data Engineer

    Incognia

    As a Data Engineer, I bridge the gap between raw data and actionable insights. I design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines from various sources into data warehouses. My work involves:

    • Design and implement high-throughput data pipelines using Apache Spark, Trino, and DBT;
    • Developed and deployed data integration pipelines to ingest customer data for machine learning model solutions;
    • Ensured data quality, consistency, and security by implementing robust testing and monitoring frameworks;
    • Collaborated effectively with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data requirements and deliver actionable insights.

    By ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility, I empower data-driven decision-making and innovation.

  2. Data Scientist

    Incognia
    • Reduced ride-hailing user fraud by 90% and bank account takeover by 98% through the development and implementation of advanced fraud detection models
    • Solved complex analysis problems, applying advanced analytical methods such as statistical modeling to identify and mitigate critical risks
    • Built and prototyped high-performance analysis pipelines that scaled to handle massive datasets, enabling real-time insights and improved decision-making
    • Collaborated closely with cross-functional engineering teams to identify, design, and implement Inloco’s product enhancements
  3. Data Scientist

    Inloco
    • Leveraged time series techniques such as ETS (Error-Trend-Seasonality) and ARIMA to analyze large-scale mobile device data and identify key trends and patterns in user behavior
    • Conducted A/B testing and other experimentation to evaluate the effectiveness of different targeting strategies and optimize ad campaigns for maximum ROI
    • Developed and presented data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing key business decisions
  4. Data Analyst Intern

    Inloco
    • Analyzed user behavior data to identify key trends and patterns in mobile usage, including app usage, location history, and demographics
    • Developed insightful reports and dashboards to visualize user behavior and market trends, providing valuable insights for sales and business development teams
    • Supported the sales team in identifying and qualifying potential customers by providing data-driven analysis of their target markets and user bases
